Coordinator
Jannika Hesse
Jannika is the Outreach and Partnerships Coordinator at WiE, always looking forward to introducing WiE to new people and organisations. With a background in economics and international business administration, she works as an analyst in banking supervision with a focus on macroeconomic scenarios and is an active member in various networks supporting women and young professionals. Jannika spends her free time travelling (often while visiting family and friends), lifting weights, cooking, and listening to podcasts.

Kate Milne
Kate is pursuing her MSc in Economics at the University of Edinburgh while working at The Fraser of Allander Institute in Glasgow. Her research interests focus on development, health, and gender economics, and her undergraduate thesis examined the link between women’s empowerment and economic development through reproductive rights. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking for her vegetarian food blog, spending time with friends, volunteering, and taking long walks with her dogs.

Anushka Vasudev
Anushka is currently a junior in high school from the United States and is interested in pursuing economics in future academic and career pathways. She is passionate about providing other students with platforms to explore the field of economics and enjoys getting involved in local economic policy initiatives to learn more about the community around her. In her free time, she loves writing for her local newspaper, playing badminton, and experimenting with new baking recipes.

Khushi Manchanda
Khushi is a Masters in Economics student at University of Mannheim, Germany. She joined the
program after completing her Bachelor’s in Economics from India where she was heading the
economics student’s association. Her research interests lie in the field of Environmental
Economics, Development and Gender Economics. Khushi has joined WiE to promote an inclusive
environment and representation in academia, support local movements at university level and
contribute through impactful ideas to reduce underrepresentation of women.

Alexandra Selivanov
Alex is currently pursuing her degree in Business Administration at Humboldt University in Berlin, with a strong interest in strategy, sustainability, and personal development. Alongside her studies, she works as a certified fitness and nutrition coach, where she supports others in building healthier, more balanced lifestyles. She joined WiE to connect with like-minded women, exchange ideas at the intersection of economics and well-being, and grow through shared experience and collaboration.

Daira Fernandez
Daira M. Fernández Álvarez is an Events Coordinator at YIMBY Action, a nationwide US- based housing advocacy organization, where she leads high-impact events and community engagement strategies. She has a background in economics and experience with global nonprofits, including the UNODC and ESD Global, focused on gender equity and mentorship. Daira joined WiE to strengthen international partnerships and launch initiatives in Latin America that amplify women’s voices in economics and policy.

Shivani Chinchorkar
Shivani recently completed her graduation in B.Sc. Economics (Hons) from MIT World Peace University, Pune and is currently preparing for her MBA. She has a keen interest in social entrepreneurship and their growth. She's also a trained Bharatnatyam Dancer with over a decade of experience. She joined Women in Economics Initiative to be part of a global network of women shaping the future of economics and leadership, and to grow through shared support, connection, and ambition.

Magdalena Wasilewska
Magdalena is a PhD candidate at the Center for Research in Experimental Economics and Political Decision-Making (CREED) at the University of Amsterdam. She holds master’s degrees from KU Leuven (social data science) and University of Amsterdam (economics). Her research examines societal perceptions of economic inequality. Driven by the belief that individual actions can bring about social change, she has a long history of volunteering with student and non-profit organizations, including her current role at the WiE. In her free time, she enjoys cultural events, sports, and cooking.
